I recommend that you book your wedding photographer at least a year before your wedding day. Why? Mostly because of availability. One year is the average amount of time engaged couples spend planning a wedding. So to make sure that you can secure your date before anyone else, the sooner the better. I advise couples just starting this process finding and booking the date with their venue first. Then, immediately begin looking to hire your photographer. You want to have a secured date on the books with your venue when you reach out to potential photographers, as it can be virtually impossible to change the date later on. Booking your photographer a year in advance will also give the time and opportunity to know each other and work together. With that being said, there is absolutely no time limit for how close to your date you can book your photography with me. Every day I am available is another opportunity for me to do the thing I love the most. So please do not hesitate to reach out and inquire.
Yes. I cover all of New England and New York, and will gladly travel within these areas to photograph your wedding.
Depending on how far you are from my home base, which is Boston, there may be a cost to cover necessary travel for me and your second photographer. The cost for travel is tied into the current federal reimbursement rate for travel, and is therefore subject to change. I will discuss this during our initial meeting and it will be included with your quote/contract so that there are no surprises. Depending on the location of your wedding and your day of timeline, it may be necessary to include additional fees for accommodations to guarantee our full wedding day coverage and the safety of your photographers.
As someone who values quality over speed, I do not rush the delivery of your photos. Since these are your precious memories that deserve to be treated as such, each wedding gets the time and attention it deserves. Depending on the volume of weddings I currently booked, on average the turn around time for all the images is four weeks after the wedding. This can be longer especially in the summer and well into fall. I will be very forthcoming with you before and throughout the process of editing your images so that you know what to expect. And since I know how painfully hard it is to wait, you will receive a slideshow of my favorite images taken at your wedding to ease the anticipation.
What makes me different from other wedding photographers actually has less to do with photography, and more to do with weddings. The truth is, I am shamelessly obsessed with weddings. I honestly think they are freaking awesome, and I am not afraid to admit it. You see, what a lot of folks do not realize about the photography industry is that in order to guarantee you can make a living, weddings are a kind of a safe bet as there are always weddings to photograph. Many photographers, including the one I learned from and who mentored me for years, get into the business in order to survive as artists/photographers. They did not necessarily get into wedding photography out of a love for weddings. I am sad to say, that some do not even have respect for them. So, what makes me different, really different, is that wedding photography is and has always has been the dream. Since making it may profession, I haven't worked a day. Why? Because I honestly do what I love for a living. I cannot imagine doing anything else. Am I the only photographer that feels this way? My guess is no. Am I in the minority as a photographer who also identifies as a lover of all things wedding? Absolutely! With out a doubt. And since I crazy love doing the exact thing that you need for your wedding, what you will hire me to do, than I can promise you it will be hard pressed to find someone with more enthusiasm, dedication, and passion to document your day!

She is my soulmate, number one fan, and the reason I fell in love with weddings to begin with. Yes! And it is actually one of my favorite parts of the job. Being a visual storyteller after all, what better way to tell your story than laid out in a beautifully crafted, uniquely designed, hardback, professionally printed and bound wedding book designed for and with you? You will be invited to participate every step of the way while crafting your bespoke wedding book, and it will be the culmination of everything we do together. It will be your wedding day masterpiece. I take albums very seriously, and I strongly encourage all of my couples to consider it a part of their wedding photography. That is why I encourage you to include it in your wedding photography contract. Once the wedding is over, having one more thing to plan and pay for is an easy task to put off, and one that is hard to pick back up later. When. you include an album in your package, doing so allows you to take advantage of discounts, payment plans, and is will be paid for by the time your wedding day rolls around. That is one less thing to worry about! You will also have the peace of mind that after all is said and done, you will have this beautiful, illustrated, personal work of art to show off the most magical moments of your lives together.
