"I’ve had photos taken by Kathryn a few times now and have always had really great experiences. Not only is she meticulous about the details, creating beautiful and timeless photographs that I’ll cherish forever but she is also just a pleasure to be around and work with. Her wonderful attitude and personality make it easy for me to smile naturally and for my camera-shy husband to feel comfortable. The whole process was a pleasure from start to finish, with her cheerfulness, talent, and professionalism apparent at every step."

"Kathryn was such a pleasure to work with! Kathryn captured our family portraits last spring. She created a fun environment for myself and the kids. She truly is so passionate about her work. We had so much fun ahead of time communicating back and forth of our ideas, visions, outfit ideas. She made this experience so special for myself and my 2 kids. Kathryn’s wedding photos are absolutely stunning, I hope I am lucky enough to use her for my own wedding one day! But for now I am so lucky to have found her to capture our special family moments."
There is no limit to how soon we can schedule your portrait session. I love to work with people creating fun, personalized portraits, and I love the thrill of spontaneity. So, if I am available, I am yours and you can book at any time. I will happily work with your schedule and within your time limitations, providing you quick support for the best possible photography in the amount of time allowed. Tight deadlines should never mean you have to compromise on the outcome, so you will get the same amount of support and time regardless if you plan two months or two days before we need to shoot.
While there are some tried and true guidlines and practices for what to wear (or better yet what not to wear) for your portraits, the golden rule of wardrobe is to be comfortable and confident. You should feel like yourself, you should love how you look, and you should not be distracted by uncomfortable, restrictive clothing that makes your feel anything other than awesome. If you cannot get dressed and immediately forget about what you are wearing, you haven't found the right outfit yet. But rest assured, I will provide you my Portrait Photography Wardrobe Guide and Best Practices once we have booked the day. Additionally, I am more than happy to provide feedback on outfits up until the day of, which can save your finances and your photography before ever hitting complete my purchase online or at the store. Even better...depending on how much time you book, you get to bring multiple outfits to change things up throughout the session.
As someone who values quality over speed, I do not rush the delivery of your photos. Since these are your precious memories that deserve to be treated as such, each wedding gets the time and attention it deserves. Depending on the volume of weddings I currently booked, on average the turn around time for all the images is four weeks after the wedding. This can be longer especially in the summer and well into fall. I will be very forthcoming with you before and throughout the process of editing your images so that you know what to expect. And since I know how painfully hard it is to wait, you will receive a slideshow of my favorite images taken at your wedding to ease the anticipation.
Absolutely! I love a fun prop moment, and I encourage you to bring anything that is sentimental or helps to tell your visual story with the photography we create together. A few things to consider are the weight and number of props you choose to bring. Consider how far and difficult it will be to carry. Is the prop highly valuable and at risk of being lost if irreplaceable? These are just a couple of things to consider as we plan your session, and something we will discuss leading up to the day.
Not only am I affirming of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am also a member of it. I have been happily married to my beautiful wife for almost 15 years, and we have raised the most wonderful daughter together. This makes me uniquely qualified to capture other LGBTQIA+ families. You will have the confidence and peace of mind knowing that your beautiful and special family will be photographed and treated with the love and respect it deserves.
I do not limit the number of photos we capture. Like each client, each session is different. I will shoot as many shots as I can in the time allotted. As a professional, I do the initial culling of your images, removing any "undeliverable". You will receive all of the images from your session with me, minus any outtakes, misfires, and duplicates shots. This saves your time and makes the selection process quicker, easier, and much more enjoyable for you.
